Glenmore Forestry Services Inc. was founded on a lifelong passion for the land and a commitment to responsible forest management. Our roots go back several generations, where a strong work ethic and respect for well-managed forests were first established.
Our family has been involved in many areas of the forestry sector, including Christmas tree operations, sugar bushes, firewood production, chipping for the pulp and paper industry, timber harvesting, lumber processing, and road construction. These experiences built the foundation for Glenmore Forestry Services today.
Glenmore has grown into a full-service forestry company — a true one-stop shop — helping landowners manage their forests for long-term success.
As the company has grown, so has our commitment to education and professional development. Our President & CEO, Matthew Bezanson, is a Professional Forester who graduated at the top of his class from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry. He is also a graduate of the Maritime College of Forest Technology as a Forest Technician.
Matthew brings extensive experience working with mills, contractors, landowners, and industrial forest management companies across the province. His education and hands-on experience provide the knowledge and expertise needed for modern forest management.
Today, Glenmore Forestry Services works with forestry companies, contractors, mills, and private landowners, providing practical solutions tailored to each project. Our services range from forest planning and silviculture to harvesting operations and carbon initiatives.
Our business is built on experience, education, and respect for the land — guiding everything we do to ensure sustainable forests for generations to come.

In June 2024, our President & CEO, Matthew Bezanson, had the honour of representing Nova Scotia on the Forestry Bioeconomy Trade & Study Mission to Finland.
Under the theme “Shaping the Future of Forestry,” the mission brought together forestry professionals, industry leaders, and policymakers to explore advanced forest management, bioeconomy innovation, mass timber production, and emerging uses of Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT).
During the mission, he met with leading Finnish organizations and toured world-class operations, including UPM, Metsä Fibre, and Stora Enso.

This experience provided valuable insight into advanced forest technologies, carbon mitigation strategies, and innovative wood-based industries that could help create new opportunities here in Nova Scotia.
At Glenmore, we are committed to continual learning and improvement. The knowledge gained from this mission helps strengthen our work on both Crown and private lands, supporting environmental stewardship, wildlife habitat protection, and sustainable timber harvesting.

This mission supported the Nova Scotia–Finland Action Plan on Forestry Cooperation, signed on April 26, 2024. The agreement creates opportunities for ongoing collaboration through study tours, professional exchanges, seminars, and trade initiatives.
Glenmore Forestry Services is proud to be part of this partnership. Participating in this initiative has strengthened our commitment to modern, forward-thinking forest management, while advancing new technologies and projects.
We continue to apply this global perspective to help our clients improve forest value, environmental performance, and long-term sustainability while exploring new markets and opportunities.
